Brussel Sprouts

1/2 cube of butter

1/3 cup olive oil

4 cloves garlic

1 bag brussel sprouts

1/2 cup water

sea salt

fresh ground pepper

 

Clean and Trim brussel sprout stems. Remove bad leaves and slice. In a large pan, add the brussel sprouts, butter and about 1 TB salt. Cover and steam on low heat.   The brussel sprouts will start to soften, change color and smell amazing . I add the garlic during the last 5 minutes of cooking, so as not to over cook it. My brussel sprouts, I cook until both sides are nice and crispy, not burned.  (I slice them up, and they cook evenly) or you can just cut them in half.
